SERIES PREMIERE OF ‘THE CON’ DELIVERS ABC’S LARGEST TOTAL VIEWER AUDIENCE IN WEDNESDAY 10:00 P.M. HOUR IN SIX MONTHS

‘The Con’ Matches ABC’s Strongest Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 Performances in Its Timeslot Since April

ABC News’ series premiere of “The Con”drew ABC’s largest Total Viewer audience (2.4 million) and matched its strongest Adults 18-49 (0.3/2) andAdults 25-54 (0.5/3) performances in the Wednesday 10:00 p.m. hour with regular series programming since April—since 4/29/20.

“The Con,” narrated by Whoopi Goldberg, outdelivered CBS’ encore “SWAT” in the 10:00 p.m. time period in Total Viewers (+41% – 2.4 million vs. 1.7 million) and Adults 25-54 (+25% – 0.5/2 vs. 0.4/2).

Each week, “The Con” will document a different con and its victims. Future episodes feature the stories of Johnathan Walton and con artist Marianne Smyth, who claimed to be an Irish heiress whose family was trying to swindle her out of her massive inheritance; the high-profile college admission scandal; Anthony Gignac of Michigan, who created a false identity to deceive people into thinking he was a member of the Saudi royal family; the Fyre Festival; and the story of three women who paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to psychic frauds who preyed on their vulnerability and dependency.
