During the week of March 16, 2020, ABC claimed 8 of the week’s Top 20 highest-rated programs in Adults 18-49 – the most for any network (NBC – 7, Fox – 3, CBS – 2):  “Grey’s Anatomy” (2.5/11), “American Idol” (1.8/8), “Station 19” (1.7/8), “The Conners” (1.7/8), “Modern Family” (1.7/8), “American Idol-Monday” (1.6/7), “A Million Little Things” (1.5/7) and “The Goldbergs” (1.5/7).

 

ABC’s “The Conners” and “Modern Family” tied as the No. 1 comedy of the week, while “The Goldbergs” ranked No. 3 (tie).

 

ABC claimed the Top 3 programs on Thursday with “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Station 19” and “A Million Little Things,” respectively; the No. 1 program on Friday with “Shark Tank” (1.4/7) and the Top 3 broadcast programs on Sunday with “American Idol,” “The Rookie” (1.4/7) and “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (1.2/6-tie), respectively.

 

On Monday, the time period premiere of ABC’s “American Idol” grew over its most recent telecast on the night (on 4/22/19) by 45% in Adults 18-49 (1.6/7 vs. 1.1/5) to tie its highest-rated Monday airing since May 2018 – since the season one finale on 5/21/18.

 

On Tuesday, all 4 of ABC’s comedies grew by double digits over their most recent airings among Adults 18-49: “The Conners” (+21% – 1.7/8 vs. 1.4/7) and “Bless This Mess” (+11% – 1.0/5 vs. 0.9/4) tied their highest-rated telecasts since October, “mixed-ish” (+29% – 0.9/4 vs. 0.7/3) hit a 2-month high and “black-ish” (+13% – 0.9/4 vs. 0.8/4) equaled a 10-week high – since 10/29/19, 10/29/19, 1/14/20 and 1/7/20, respectively.

 

On Wednesday, each of ABC’s 4 comedies delivered gains over their last telecasts in Adults 18-49:

“The Goldbergs” (+36% – 1.5/7 vs. 1.1/6) and “Schooled” (+22% – 1.1/5 vs. 0.9/5) matched their top-rated telecasts of the season, “Modern Family” (+6% – 1.7/8 vs. 1.6/8) tied a 2-month high (since 1/15/20) and “American Housewife” (+25% – 1.0/5 vs. 0.8/5) scored its highest-rated broadcast of the year.

 

 

On Thursday, “Station 19” built over the prior week by 13% with Adults 18-49 (1.7/8 vs 1.5/8) to its highest-rated telecast since its January season premiere and “Grey’s Anatomy” built week to week by 9% (2.5/11 vs. 2.3/12) to tie its top telecast since its September season opener – since 1/23/20 and 9/26/19, respectively.

 

On Friday, “Shark Tank” grew for the 3rd straight week with Adults 18-49 (+27% – 1.4/7 vs. 1.1/7) to its highest-rated broadcast since March 2019 – since 3/3/19.

 

On Sunday, “American Idol” grew week to week by 6% among Adults 18-49 (1.8/8 vs. 1.7/8) to match its top telecast since its season premiere – since 2/16/20.
