Season to Date, ‘Nightline’ Leads CBS’ ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’ in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49
ABC News’ “Nightline” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (1.333 million), Adults 25-54 (504,000) and Adults 18-49 (416,000) for the 2nd week in a row during the week of June 3, 2019, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research.
“Nightline” increased in Total Viewer audience week to week (+2% – 1.333 million vs. 1.303 million for w/o 5/27/19), seeing its largest overall audience in over 6 months—since w/o 11/12/18.
Season to date, “Nightline” is leading CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” in Adults 25-54 (+31,000 – 445,000 vs. 414,000) and Adults 18-49 (+25,000 – 327,000 vs. 302,000).
Stories reported on “Nightline” last week included the journey back to Normandy with a group of WWII veterans, the only joint interview with the cast of “Big Little Lies,” the disappearance of a Connecticut mom of five, a veteran fighting to clear his name after dating app scammers created hundreds of fake profiles with his stolen information, a look at police departments using new tools to interact with people with autism and mental illnesses, the impact of Broadway’s hit musical “The Prom” and a look at the rivalry on the court as two of the NBA’s top superstars face off for a coveted title.
NOTE: For the week, CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” was retitled to “The Late Late Show-JC-ENC” and NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” was retitled to “Late Night with Seth Meyers-SM” due to being encore telecasts. The retitled telecasts will not be included in the season averages.
